At last I have found the amazing Dr. Iker for my lipedema issues! I am already showing improvement after 3 visits of therapy. Dr. Iker and her staff are kind and caring. I feel encouraged and hopeful that I will see continued results. THANK YOU!!!!
I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to see Dr. Iker today. I have been to 4 or 5 PCPs in the last month, and not a single one was familiar with lipedema. Between that and being written off as just “having some weight to lose”, I genuinely felt hopeless for some time. Dr. Iker was extremely compassionate, answered every question I had, provided pneumatic compression for my legs, and provided me with a folder of informational handouts. I felt heard and was not written off at all. She clearly loves what she does and cares about her patients.
Dr Emily Iker is a remarkable doctor, and a remarkable human being. Her own personal story is admirable and filled with courage and true grit. I recently visited her office, and was blown away by the amount of knowledge she possesses. Not only is she an expert at diagnosing serious conditions, that relate to the lymphatic system, she explains everything to you with utter precision and heart. Her suggestions for care and treatment are spot on. If you even suspect having lipedema, which is probably more prevalent than reported online, make a beeline to her office. So many doctors do not have experience with lipedema. You’ll feel hope when you work with her, and there are some things that can be done to help live with this condition. Follow her instructions, they work. This condition can make women feel terrible about themselves, like it is all their fault…and it isn’t. Dr. Iker is a godsend. I’m so grateful I met her.
